Robin Behn and Heidi Lynn Staples Poetry Reading

Robin Behn teaches in the Program in Creative Writing at The University of Alabama. She is the author of five volumes of poems, Quarry Cross, The Yellow House, Horizon Note, The Red Hour, and Paper Bird, and two chapbooks. She is co-editor of The Practice of Poetry: Writing Exercises from Poets Who Teach, and editor of a forthcoming resource for young writers, Once Upon a Time in the Twenty-First Century: Unexpected Exercises in Creative Writing, developed in UA’s Creative Writing Club. Robin is also a musician, and has collaborated with visual artists, choreographers, composers, and other writers. Look and listen at robinbehn.com.

Heidi Lynn Staples recently published her fifth book, A**A*A*A (Ahsahta, 2018), an Alabama-based poetry collection informed by grant-supported ethnographic research. With the poet and activist Amy King, Staples co-edits Poets for Living Waters, launched as an international response to the BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, and the anthology Big Energy Poets: Ecopoetry Thinks Climate Change. She collaborated with local artists and writers to launch the EcoLitArts Project at Dauphin Island Sealab, and she teaches in the MFA program at the University of Alabama.
