Sarah Sides handles the English Department’s financial affairs, oversees personnel paperwork and processes, and serves as Assistant to the Department Chair. She facilitates faculty and staff recruitment, submits payroll for department employees, and draws up teaching agreements for adjunct faculty each semester. She advises faculty and staff on institutional purchasing policies and procedures, as well as provides reports on financial commitments, grants, and program budget availability.
Sarah acts as a departmental liaison to other campus offices including the College of Arts & Sciences, Accounts Payable, P-Card Services, Contract Management, Human Resources, and Strategic Communications. She coordinates job search finalists’ campus visits, facilitates new hire onboarding processes, and helps plan department events such as the biennial symposium.
Sarah joined the UA Department of English in 2016 as Undergraduate Coordinator and started her current position in 2018.
