I am a graduate of the University of Alabama's New College, and much more recently completed my PhD in English literature at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, working on the 20th century Boston & Black Mountain lyric poet John Wieners. At CUNY I studied 19th & 20th century American poetry and philosophical prose, and taught writing, literature, cultural theory, American studies, and film & television studies in different colleges of the CUNY system. My research interests currently include psychoanalytic theory, Alabama historiography, and mid-century New American poetics.
