Emily Fine earned her Ph.D. from Brandeis University in 2016. Her dissertation, "Dying to Write: Mothers' Memento Mori Legacy Texts in England, 1600-1650," focused on women's writing to their children or writing styled as a legacy from mother to child. At UA, she teaches first-year composition, honors composition, and the early English literature survey course. Her favorite part about teaching is convincing her students that the "old stuff" in literature is actually quite fun.
