Beyond the Undergraduate Years Hunter Coward, raised in Mobile, AL, graduated from the University of Alabama as a Communication Studies major and an English minor in December 2010. Dear English Department community, As chair, I continue the pattern of encapsulating our achievements as a department during the previous academic year, 2012-2013. To give you an overview of our operation, during 2012-2013 the English Department had 37 tenure-track faculty (14 Assistant Professors, 9 Associate Professors, and 14 Professors), although 2 of the professors serve elsewhere in the University in administrative capacities.
