Dr. Elliot Panek studies the uses and effects of digital media from sociological and psychological perspectives. He is the author of Understanding Reddit, and an Associate Professor in the College of Communication & Information Sciences. In this lecture he will discuss his research on the social dynamics of online communities, social media and narcissism, media addiction, and how social media affects writers.
