Bio

Associate Professor Alexandra Cook completed her PhD in medieval literature at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Cook’s areas of specialization are Chaucer studies, medieval literary theory, and 20th and 21st-century medievalisms. The English department’s sole medievalist, Cook offers undergraduates a medieval literature survey each fall and a single-author course on Chaucer every spring. Recent graduate offerings have included courses on “Postmedieval Chaucer,” “Allegory and Representation,” and “Chaucer’s Bodies of Knowledge.”
