A native of Athens, Ohio, and graduate of Ohio University and LSU, Guthrie has taught at the University of Alabama for ten years. He’s a poet whose work has appeared in Cimarron Review, Los Angeles Review, New Ohio Review, Rattle, The Southern Review, and elsewhere. His first book, Contemplative Man, is published by Sibling Rivalry Press.
Guthrie teaches composition, American and British literature, and poetry workshops, including EN408: “The Long Poem” and EN408: “Humor in Poetry”.
