Bio
Jane Morton received an MFA from the University of Alabama with a concentration in poetry. Their debut poetry chapbook, Snake Lore, won the Black River Prize from Black Lawrence Press and is forthcoming in 2024, and their poetry and short fiction have been published widely in journals including West Branch, Gulf Coast, Ninth Letter, Passages North, Joyland, and Cream City Review. They have received a Fulbright Fellowship and a Katharine Bakeless Nason Scholarship from the Bread Loaf Environmental Writers Conference, and their work has been nominated for prizes including the Pushcart and Best of the Net. They are especially interested in ecopoetics, place-based writing, fabulism, and the habits and practices that make up a writer’s life.
