English is a diverse major that can serve as an excellent background for numerous opportunities. At this site, students can explore possible areas in which they may choose to work and see salaries associated with specific job titles.

The Occupational Network (O-NET) website is another good resource where students can browse career clusters by selecting an option from the drop-down box or by typing in a keyword in the search box. For example, if you search for editor you can see information such as work activities, related occupations, and wages/employment. You can even select a state and see the comparison of national high/median/low salaries to state high/median/low salaries for any given occupation.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics website, through the US Department of Labor, has a reader-friendly design and shows career options, salary information, projected growth, etc. You can click on an occupation and browse the different tabs to learn what the job entails.
